Realme GT Master Good Elements

Realme GT Master Good Elements

With a combination of several Realme GT Master good elements such as a unique timer comfortable in hand, good screen, satisfactory 120Hz support, stable internal software and capable performance. It is no exaggeration to say that this smartphone is quite attractive to own. The camera capabilities are also good where there are various filters and interesting functions that can be tried. But, it is actually not the main focus on this smartphone.

The disadvantage lies in the relatively small 4,300mAh battery capacity. Guess, it is better if the Realme uses at least a battery with a capacity of 5000mAh. However, Realme is clever in covering the ‘hole’ of the deficiency by including other supports such as fast charging along with it.

Then, another shortcoming is the lack of waterproof rating feature – it is one of the important features at this time in addition to the weather in Malaysia is often unpredictable. The rainy season that sometimes we ourselves cannot anticipate. Next, mono speakers are also another of the most notable shortcomings to it. Meanwhile, there are already many nearby competitors who are able to provide stereo speakers on their smartphones.

So what do you think about this Realme gadget? Does it have a wow factor that is able to grab your attention? Share it with us in the comments section provided. Realme GT Master Smartphone

Personally, the overall use of the Realme GT Master smartphone has not posed any problems as far as this review article is written. It feels good and is able to operate smoothly for all daily tasks. Where the process of opening and changing applications as well as animation transitions feels just fine. Thus, it makes daily tasks able to remain efficient without many problems or major issues.

In addition, there is also a special mode called as GT Mode which is suitable to be used for a better gaming experience. Where, it uses maximum CPU and GPU performance for the experience

which is pretty good. Apart from that, it also has a vibrating haptic response system which is also good in our view.

Next move to the Realme mobile game settings (first), the original graphics setting for the PUBG Mobile game is in HD with a High frame rate. It can also still reach Extreme frame rates when played on Smooth graphics. Furthermore, it is also possible to achieve Ultra frame rates for the highest HDR graphics settings.

PUBG Game Default Settings

For COD Mobile, the default setting is Very High with High graphics. This frame rate can also reach Max but the highest graphics setting is as high as High. Then, when it is played with Very High graphics, the highest frame rate is also at the Very High setting only.

COD Game Default Settings

The next game which is Mobile Legend Bang Bang (MLBB) can be played reaching High graphics. Finally, the Genshin Impact game is originally set to low with a 30 fps mode. Just playing for fun is not a problem. But, of course there is no hope for more than that.

Other than that, we also don’t face extreme issues for outdoor use. The brightness level on this smartphone is quite good to ensure the content on the screen is comfortable to view. Then, the screen is also complete with a high refresh rate of 120Hz. The scrolling experience was pretty smooth and fun in our view. But, of course the 120Hz screen will use a lot of battery gadget.

Realme GT Master Edition

Realme GT Master Edition

Realme has come up with several new offerings under the Realme GT Master Edition collection and one of them is the Realme GT Master Edition. As many know, smartphones under this series often feature attractive finishes inspired from everyday items in our lives. Not only that, it also received a touch of contemporary style from the famous Japanese designer, Nauto Fukusawa.

For this time, Realme and Fukusawa are seen taking inspiration from their suitcases. He said, it is specially created to cure your longing to travel. Furthermore, the tourism sector is now unable to operate rapidly in the wake of the pandemic that has had a profound effect on it. With such a concept, it is at least able to cure longing while waiting for the situation to return to normal.

Well, no need for a lengthy preface. Going back to the original purpose of this article for which we will share the full review for the Realme GT Master Edition. What is the point of interest in it? What are the significant shortcomings that you need to know? Is it an attractive smartphone, or is it just an external factor that looks beautiful? Keep reading to find out more. This phone just feels like a very premium phone that you can only get for super expensive price.

For starters, let’s talk about its design aspects first. The Realme GT Master Edition we received is Voyager Gray. What’s unique, it uses a gray Vegan leather finish on the back panel. This means, it is able to provide good comfort despite being held for a long time. Not only that, the grip on it also feels really good. Most importantly, such a finish is actually able to reduce the effects of dirt on this Realme gadget itself

Nova 8 Night Mode

Nova 8 Night Mode

Nova 8 Night mode is one of the things that Huawei should improve on middle -class devices. If other devices can do it, what is Huawei’s reason? Although the noise effect is not very visible, but the post-process softens the picture result and makes the result not very good with a slight orange or sometimes too bluish color. What’s great is, the night mode of this device doesn’t just increase the brightness level.

The video recording of the Nova 8 device is still the same as it used to be. Any Huawei device in the same category will have not-so-good quality. The color profile is interesting, but if you look closely it has a slight snagging effect. Most interesting is, the video recording of this device’s selfie camera and its microphone are of high quality. So for use when working from home and teleconferencing sessions, this device is able to handle smoothly and great.

A middle class gadget like this should already have a magnifier and stereo sound. Unfortunately, it only offers mono speakers. Yes, the quality is good – but if not balanced it’s a bit weird. Throughout my use, I used TWS alone a lot. One good thing about using a device without GMS is, a music streaming app that doesn’t require a license like DRM. Tidal, Apple Music, etc. can be used on the device very well.

One drawback that this device lacks other than stereo audio is the latest Hi Histen system from Huawei available on the MatePad 11. Harmony OS 2.0 on their tablet has support for spatial or surround audio mimicry no matter what audio accessory is used. If that feature is available on this device, it will definitely hook you all.

Thanks for reading this all about gadget article that is titled “Nova 8 Night Mode”

Huawei Nova 8 Change

Huawei Nova 8 Change

Existing Huawei users will be happy with this Huawei Nova 8 change, as it is very comfortable to use as well as convenient. The settings are not so confusing and more organized as well as with the icon design and good use of colors – it gives a soothing feeling.

Although the initial performance is not very smooth, the overall performance of this device is very good. Time lag problems only happen occasionally and it is standard for such a device. While there is no GMS, the device can be used as usual without any problems – if you can trust the favorite Petal Search app that sometimes displays results from suspicious sources.

Best Thing

There are two things I love most about this device. First the use of Petal Maps is getting better; and there is little experience as if using a map from Apple. Although the name of the location is sometimes not very accurate; and some are misspelled, the intricate instructions in a voice; as if this robot is still able to show the right path.

The second is Celia which mean still with the Malay language. It can listen to my instructions well and quickly and do those instructions very accurately. With the Celia progressing, it’s no surprise that Huawei is ready to bring in more devices. Celia’s voice still needs to be fixed; as it reminds me of Siri’s voice of a bygone era – that of a robot trying to mimic humans.

Since this is a Huawei gadget, functions such as Smart Collaboration are also supported for fast connection and tethering between all their products. I’m currently using the Huawei FreeBuds 4i and MatePad 11 and believe it or not, I’m pretty excited about the way it tracks all the devices and accessories as well as how fast it connects. Oh yes, this article is also written on Huawei laptops; and the file drag and drop function is also very well supported.

Galaxy Z Flip3 Battery

Galaxy Z Flip3 Battery

The 3300 mAh Galaxy Z Flip3 battery is matched to a 6.7 ″ 120Hz screen. On paper this is a very troubling combination and it is manifested to a disappointing real world performance. In normal use I was only able to get SOT up to 6.5 hours only with the device lasting for 19 hours. A longer usage life of around 31 hours can be enjoyed but with SOT around 4 hours only. The most notable drawback of the Z Flip3 is the same battery as happened on the Z Flip 5G last year.

The supported charging system is only 15W which takes 90 minutes to fully charge the battery. This is a slower charging time; than the 80 minutes that the Galaxy S21 Ultra with a 5000 mAh battery can do. The use of last year’s camera system I can forgive; but the small battery size with slow charging by 2021 standards is disappointing

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is this year’s most affordable foldable screen device with prices starting from RM3999 which is 32% cheaper than last year’s Z Flip (RM5888) selling price and only slightly more expensive than the Galaxy S21 (RM3699) launched yesterday Last January.

With a relatively cheaper price than other flagship gadget more conventional designs, I feel the Z Flip3 is the long-awaited foldable device. Not too expensive, has the same performance as a conventional device and has a design that is sure to impress.

Samsung proved that devices with such a design can be offered at a more reasonable price. After this, cheaper devices will definitely appear on the market because this is what happened before. The Z Flip3 is a device that I feel has finally started a revolution in the use of foldable devices.

There are no real competitors to the Z Flip3 but I feel the Sony Xperia 5 III; and iPhone 12 Mini are compatible as all three are compact in size; equipped with a 12MP camera and have a relatively small battery capacity.

Galaxy Z Flip3 Screen

Galaxy Z Flip3 Screen

I want to touch a little bit on the Galaxy Z Flip3 screen. It is interesting that various widgets and applications can be controlled using it but it cannot be used to directly reply to messages. If a WhatsApp message is received for example, you can read it but to reply the screen still needs to be opened. This is the most notable shortcoming as this feature has been supported on the Motorola RAZR since last year again.

The easier feeling of hunting down enemies with the fingers is no longer the cause of the enemy disappearing from view.

There are no surprises in direct use. Everything worked as expected. Samsung includes a variety of additional features such as control of SmartThings-connected devices directly from the notification tray, launching two apps with different account logs, locking apps with a biometric system and a mode for kids. In short what you can enjoy on the Galaxy S21 Ultra can also be enjoyed on the Z Flip3. There is no caste difference between these two flagship devices except there is no S Pen and Flex Mode stylus support that is exclusive to Samsung’s foldable gadget at the moment.

Scrolling feels smooth because of the 120Hz screen used. When running the finger on the middle part of the screen; can still be felt the drain that exists in the middle. It’s no longer scary for me having already reviewed all the foldable devices marketed before.

So is there a difference using a foldable screen phone? Actually none and this is what should be the case for devices with the Z Flip3 form factor. It’s just a candbybar phone that can be folded to have a smaller size. No awkwardness except having to get used to a higher -than -usual screen.

Galaxy Z Flip3 Design

Galaxy Z Flip3 Design

This year’s Galaxy Z Flip3 design is flatter, compact, thinner and more durable. With a flat side holding the device feels more palatable and safe in the hand. The larger surface area in contact with the skin is matched by the non -glossy finish making the device not feel slippery in the hand. Even if it falls, Samsung says the Aluminum Armor technology used is more accurate.

I didn’t try for myself whether this was true or not because the Samsung gadget used was a loan unit. All I can say is that after a week in the pocket, placed on the table and use without a frame (no free frame in this year’s box) the outer surface of the Z Flip3 still has no scratch marks.

Changes were also made to the smaller folding hinges to allow the device to be thinner in the closed position. But an important change in my opinion is the IPX8 waterproof durability given this year. Thanks to the divine for the most obvious shortcomings of the foldable device solved Samsung. I was pretty scared of using the Z Flip last year faucet in Malaysia whenever it could rain. It is quite unfortunate if the rain also suddenly causes the Z Flip which is sold at RM5888 to be damaged due to water entering.

The power and volume buttons are placed on the right side. A physical fingerprint scanner is also place on the power button. The scanning process is very fast comparable to the facial recognition system that is also still include. Speaking of facial recognition system it only works in good lighting situations as no infrared camera is included.

Users can switch to video or picture mode by scrolling the screen left or right. Wide -angle lenses can be change by scrolling up and down. I will discuss the use of cameras in more depth in the camera segment below later.

Using Mate 30 Pro

Using Mate 30 Pro

If we feel it’s harassing, regular users when using Mate 30 Pro who don’t have the technical ability will definitely have trouble doing so. Huawei says consumers in Malaysia need to migrate to HMS. The application is downloaded through AppGallery. However, applications such as Waze, Google Maps or Facebook are still not offered on this Huawei application store and local banking applications are also limited. Without the app, the Huawei gadget will die. This has been the reality for over seven years now.

What happened to this Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G is sad. Its camera capabilities are better than the Mate 20 Pro and only slightly behind the P30 Pro. In some respects, the camera is better than the iPhone 11 Pro Max and Note 10+.

At a selling price of RM4199 each, it is difficult to recommend the purchase of a device that is like a beautiful race car but not only equipped with two tires. There are many other devices on the market that have comparable specifications but do not require users to do sideloading to enjoy daily necessities applications.

Don’t buy Mate 30 Pro 5G because of its 5G, but if you want to buy – buy because of the performance and capabilities of the camera.

Attractive device design with premium finish.
The on -screen voice control buttons are attractive because they can be used by left -handed or right -handed people without any problems.
Excellent camera capabilities. Video is now much better when compared to previous Huawei devices.
Extremely satisfactory battery life with fast charging system.
Fast 3D face recognition system. Can work in the dark.

GMS needs to be installed manually if you want to enjoy popular applications that AppGallery does not offer.
Audio quality is unsatisfactory due to imbalance.
Fingerprint scanners are still of the optical type.
The Horizon Display screen is not suitable for use in most applications.

Mate 30 Pro Specifications

On paper, the Mate 30 Pro specifications of this chip are supposed to support 2.3Gbps download speeds and 1.25Gbps upload speeds. In our tests, the download speed we were able to achieve was close to 1.9Gbps. While the upload speed is 132Mbps. When compared to a 4G network, on the same device by turning off 5G mode – the download speed is 118Mbps and the upload is 46.4Mbps. This means about over ten times the speed difference for downloads and a double increase in upload speeds.

This 5G gadget test is done with a SIM card provided by Maxis. According to Maxis, their network is ready with 5G. They just have to wait for an answer from MCMC to give the final word when they can prepare.

5G plans for consumers

So what are the advantages of 5G? Lots. Very many and some were unexpected. Among the things we were able to test was the app download in the Huawei App Gallery, around 30 large -sized apps were downloaded simultaneously and it was completed in a very short time. We also had the opportunity to test video calls from Mate 30 Pro 5G to Huawei TV at the test site. The location is about 2 KM, there is no time lag and the video call is smooth.

Huawei also provides several 5G CPE routers for use in the office or home. The test of downloading large presentation files is fast. The size of around 500MB is completed in the blink of an eye. Playing 8K format online video is also smooth and no problem.

Huawei is one of the leading suppliers in Malaysia for 5G infrastructure in Malaysia. Both infra at the test site, either 4G or 5G are from them. In our tests, most were 5G SA tests – that is, using its own 5G infra instead of the power -enhanced 4G infra.

Mate 30 Pro Sensor

The 40+40+8+3D TOF Megapixel Mate 30 Pro sensor combination is larger than the 40+20+8+3D TOF Megapixel on the P30 Pro. The downside to Huawei gadget cameras over the years is the poor video capture ability. Problems such as poor video and only 4K 30FPS are solved on the Mate 30 Pro. So because the same camera is used – the Mate 30 Pro 5G also has the same camera capabilities. It’s no problem to record at 4K 60FPS through the new Cine Camera RGGB sensor used,

Wide -angle, ultra -wide -angle, telephoto and 3D TOF lenses allow the device to be used as a flexible mobile device camera. Pictures in a variety of situations can be taken without problems. The only downside is that optical zoom systems are now only up to 3X, hybrid up to 5X and digital up to 30X only. The P30 Pro periscope mechanism is not reused. This is most likely because even though it provides a high zoom level, it cannot go through a smooth zoom when video recording is done.

The camera app has an easy -to -use interface. All basic functions are neatly displayed on the screen. The manual mode provided is also powerful enough for users to change the settings as needed. True to the use of the Pro name, the Mate 30 Pro 5G camera app gives you the freedom to work without the software constraints we found on the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Additional functions included are slow motion video up to thousands of FPS, Monochrome, Dual View, Document, Portrait, Aperture, and Pro. All of them can be activated by the user himself. Praise we give to Huawei because the included camera app is quite complete. The best example is Air Gesture which allows the device to be controlled without any touch. Like the Pixel 4, these gesture controls are also annoying that only occasionally work.

Port in Mate 30 Pro

Port in Mate 30 Pro

The USB-C charging port in Mate 30 Pro located on the bottom is squeezed by the SIM tray on the left and the speaker lattice on the right. The SIM tray used is of the hybrid type supporting dual nano -sized SIM or one NM card. An infrared transmitter is place at the top. Huawei still includes it even while at the same time marketing the device technology in relation to them. Praise should be given because other manufacturers have long discarded this functionality on the grounds that it is not used by most users.

Due to the back panel being protect by a faux leather finish, the back panel no longer traps fingerprint dirt like a pitcher that traps insects. The bulge of the camera gadget use is also quite large making the device cannot be place flat on the table surface. A round glass protects the four camera lenses. Without a framework we are very sure this glass is scratch after use after a while.

We would like to commend the design of the Mate 30 Pro 5G; as it not only looks futuristic but doesn’t just recycle last year’s device design. After embarking on the square -shaped camera bulge trend that is now being imitate by Apple and Google; they immediately changed to a round bulge design like a real digital camera lens. This is in line with their goal of selling the Mate 30 Pro 5G as a powerful photography; as well as videography device in the market.

Huawei already has their own design identity rather than just taking inspiration from the best -selling competitor devices in the market.

Interface And Software

Powerful hardware will only work well if matched with software of comparable quality. The Mate 30 Pro series is Huawei’s first smartphone launch without official Google Mobile Services (GMS) support. Instead it was replace by Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) with apps download from the Huawei AppGallery.

Oppo Reno6 Pro Battery

Although the Oppo Reno6 Pro battery is 4500mAh and the Reno5 Pro is 4350, which is 150mAh larger there is no difference whatsoever in terms of durability. Light use is not a problem reaching 7-9 hours of SOT with a durability of around 5-6 hours of extreme use. The charging power is also still the same at 65W with SuperVOOC 2.0 technology.

Oppo promises 31 minutes of full charging and 5 minutes of charging can guarantee videos can be played up to 4 hours. There is no difference at all with the past, maybe we should look forward to other innovations like MagVOOC as if MagDart is coming to see the difference and more interesting things.

In terms of design it does seem to be no different, but this change in internal specifications plays a huge role. It changes the user experience drastically. The screen may also be no different such as design, device size, curved design, 90Hz support and many more. But Color OS 11.3 provides a boost for a slightly better user experience.

Performance is also over 2x faster than the Oppo Reno5 Pro. The addition of virtual RAM even a small percentage in change, which is important real -time use is good and not problematic. The audio on this device is also really immersive and the camera quality is slightly better. Hopefully this AI issue can be fixed in Color OS 12 or an upcoming update. The perandi vibration motor that is on the next level is also enough to make me almost fall in love with this Oppo gadget.

The selling price of RM2,999 in my opinion is quite expensive. A good effort in trying to give the experience of approaching a landmark device over RM3 thousand. For performance and no hot issues when photography and the first might be worth it because of the 19GB of RAM and SD870 that helps. But for balanced use I feel the Mi 11 is still among the best despite only 8GB of RAM.

Before I continue further in the video, I will connect the Oppo Reno6 Pro photography part with night mode. Since the Oppo Reno5 Pro night mode on Oppo devices in the more premium Reno series this has had better results. It not only brightens the picture by adding filters, but really identifies the situation and atmosphere to give a more captivating result. This is a sample using night mode via artificial intelligence.

Finally, 50MP mode or extra HD mode is seen trying to give the best results with the best details. 50MP looks quite helpful, but the extra HD mode seems like a gimmick as there is almost no difference.

For video recording results, it is a little difficult to get interesting results due to limited movement. But the result of this Oppo Reno6 Pro video is seen there is still a lot of opportunity to get better. It’s not as great as on the Find X3 Pro, but for the Reno series it’s a step up in fierce competition with the Vivo. Oppo just needs a partnership with a camera company to come up with a better color profile. Vivo have prove it’s a good strategy.

Oppo uses Ultra-Linear type stereo speakers and with a thin bezel screen design along with a curved screen, the audio thrown spreads around the device to provide an immersive experience. Then the speakers of this device are optimize by Dolby Atmos. Listening to music on Tidal HiFi and Spotify high settings is very enjoyable and satisfying. It has good bass beats, mids and highs that are comparable to a pinnacle device; as well as having a fairly loud, consistent and immersive sound level.

Unfortunately the Apple Music app on this device is unable to activate the Dolby Atmos feature; as it can on the Poco X3 GT device.

However, surround effects via the built -in artificial intelligence mode of Color OS can be activated if using audio accessories. Oppo gadget is trying to provide a Dolby Atmos experience on any Bluetooth audio accessory through their Color OS. It’s like Huawei Histen trying to mimic various listening experiences.

Playing for the first time on this Oppo Reno6 Pro gives a great crazy experience. 12GB of RAM along with an additional 7GB taken from internal storage is coupled with a Snapdragon 870 processing chip from Qualcomm that has been proven many times in tests at Amanz labs-quite powerful! Imagine if 8GB of RAM with this chip is already satisfactory, let alone approaching 20GB? Apex Legend and Asphalt 9 along with repeatedly testing the gadget benchmark score doesn’t heat up and upon completion goes back to the home screen or switches to social media apps still operating well and amazingly.

Color OS 11 is among the best. With Oppo’s exciting combination of features and functions along with native Android, it is among my favorite operating systems. The user experience approaching the native Android offered is also still adequate and in my opinion a good try.

On this Reno6 Pro it runs a newer version, namely Color OS 11.3. Besides being able to add another 7GB of RAM, this time it is more cheerful and interesting giving a quieter experience. Attractive picture options, easier screenshots and reduced load functions as well as AOD mode borrowed from Oxygen OS 11.

What makes me love this device is its improved vibration engine. Oppo uses an X-axis linear motor with an excellent haptic system. Very comfortable and realistic. Type on Gboard, scroll on the launcher, and getting notification is very satisfactory. It’s approaching the iPhone, unfortunately its integration isn’t so thorough. Anyway, I can type articles on this device comfortably without feeling bored or tired fingers.

Performance And Benchmark Scores

To prove that this 7GB of virtual RAM is not a gimmick, I tested it several times with the first test of 12GB of RAM only on AnTuTu and Geekbench. Then a second test with the addition of virtual RAM. Since my first session on Apex Legend and Asphalt 9 with high settings was no problem, the score this earned on me was a true score.

In AnTuTu with 12GB RAM the score is 631,974, while with 19GB RAM the score is 666,803. Geekbench 5 with 12GB received a score of 938/2980 for single-core and multi-core, while 19GB of RAM received 1010/3100. For AnTuTu only around 5% -6% increase, with Geekbench showing 17% -18% increase for single core and only around 4% increase for multi-core.

S20 Ultra Zoom System

S20 Ultra Zoom System

Plus a Galaxy S20 Ultra zoom system on the most stable smartphones is also included. At 30X zoom the process of taking pictures is still easy as the images don’t shake as badly as we experienced on the P30 Pro. If you’re reluctant to live with compromise, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is among the most compact gadget ever produced to date.

But the dilemma here is that the majority of consumers do not need a Swiss Army Knife. They are more than happy enough to just have a spoon, fork. knives and scissors. So paying almost RM500 for toothpicks, flashlights, razors and unnecessary nail clippers can be seen as a waste.

What we can say about the S20 Ultra is that it’s the most complete device on the market after the Note 10+. His camera capabilities are best in class at the moment. 120Hz screen technology will change the way you use the device as long as battery life is not important to you.

In other words if you are indeed looking for a Swiss Army Knife device, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is a landmark device for the capable individual.

The most powerful Samsung device this year. The application can be launched quickly and without problems.
The One UI interface makes it easy to use the device with one hand.
12GB of RAM allows dozens of applications to launch without a refresh.
Good video and photo recording capabilities. Make up for the shortcomings on the S10+ and Note 10+.
Satisfactory battery life.
Charging up to 45W is supported.

Problems with focusing zoom mode when used in indoor areas.
128GB of storage is too small for a premium flagship device.

The 120Hz screen uses the battery quickly.

Galaxy S20 Ultra Stereo

Galaxy S20 Ultra Stereo

Steady Galaxy S20 Ultra stereo audio can be enjoyed from a pair of included stereo speakers. One speaker is located at the front while the other is at the bottom. Even so the audio quality is still balanced and most importantly loud. For true audio enjoyment, we recommend that the Dolby Atmos system be activated at all times. By default it is not enabled.

All major audio codecs are supported to ensure your favorite music can be heard at the best quality. The only drawback is that there are no more audio jacks as this is the current trend. Many will definitely miss it but we in order to produce a device with a small bezel and a large battery size, the audio jack had to be sacrificed.

Bench mark

As in previous years, the S20 Ultra for the Malaysian market uses an Exnos chip. This year’s Exynos 990 is matched with 12GB of LPDDR5 memory and 128GB of UFS 3.0 storage. The chip used is an update to the Exynos 9825 used on the Note 10+. Both chips are manufactured using 7nm technology unlike the Exynos 9820 on the S10+ which still uses 8nm technology.

We cannot say which ideology is correct here. What we do know is that on the S20 Ultra the photos taken in the majority of situations do not depict the actual situation. Even though it is a “fake photo” it still looks good if placed next to photos taken using the iPhone 11 Pro Max and P30 Pro. The proof can be seen for yourself in the camera comparison gadget article we published a few weeks ago.

In the blind tests conducted, many agreed the Samsung S20 Ultra picture is the best among the three devices mentioned earlier. This is a surprising thing because in tests done last year, Samsung devices were not selected at all because they were behind Apple and Huawei.

The conclusion here is that last year’s weaknesses have been fixed by Samsung. Pictures are more vibrant and sharp. Night mode is now useful and not just a noise -adding mode. The zoom capability also bypasses Huawei. Most importantly in 30X zoom mode even though the image is still stable and does not shake as badly as on the P30 Pro.

S20 Ultra Processor

S20 Ultra Processor

Like the Pixel device, the S20 Ultra processor process each picture first to ensure sharpness and color. Good or bad we will touch on it again in the segment below. Notable is that like the Pixel 4 and iPhone 11 Pro Max, the S20 Ultra also uses post-processing to ensure each photo taken produces a satisfactory image.

The need to process each picture creates a very foreign problem for us on Samsung devices. The more pictures are taken continuously, the hotter the device will get. It didn’t make the device uncomfortable to use but we could feel the temperature difference on the back panel if the frame was removed.

The Samsung gadget also heats up quickly after taking 8K video even for just a minute. Powerthe high processing required causes the device to heat up faster than when taking pictures.

Picture Quality

Even in auto mode, the pictures taken look vibrant and sharp. Our praise is give to the reproduction of a very vivid color. Scene Optimiser when activate will ensure that pictures taken are take with the correct settings. On the S10+ and Note 10+ we complain Samsung is trying to be Apple with pictures that don’t undergo an aggressive post -process. The result is a picture with less vivid colors and lower saturation than other Samsung flagship devices. On the S20 Ultra the picture will undergo an aggressive post -process and the saturation is higher than the real situation.

Yes we know there are some camps with different understandings of what deserves to be call “good picture quality”. The iPhone camp will say the resulting image should be the same as the actual situation. Samsung’s camp will say bright images with high saturation are necessary. Huawei’s camp says the night mode picture should look bright.

Samsung S20 Ultra Series

Samsung S20 Ultra Series

On this Samsung S20 Ultra series as well, there are no more 3.5mm audio jacks and users will be given earphones that use a USB-C connection. With this Samsung officially no longer includes audio jacks on all of their flagship devices after doing so on the Note 10 years ago. This is not surprising as it has been a trend for the past three years.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra brings a slightly larger design but much thicker than the Note 10+. As a result we took a few days to get used to using it comfortably. What makes it less comfortable is because of the unbalanced weight distribution. The device is heavier at the top due to the bulge as well as the enormous camera mechanism.

It’s impossible not to talk about the S20 Ultra’s enormous gadget camera bulge. It’s almost twice as big as what can be seen on the S20 and S20+. This large size is used because of the complex periscope mechanism used. As a result it is impossible to place the device flat on the table surface.

But the biggest problem is the fingers that often block the camera lens because of its different position compared to previous Samsung devices. The way the device is held to take pictures needs to be changed when using the S20 Ultra. This problem is similar to what happened when we reviewed the Mate 20 Pro and Mate 30 Pro which also have large camera modules. This is the reason why the majority of devices on the market place the camera module in the upper right corner to prevent fingers blocking the lens.

Samsung provides a soft translucent frame that relieves worries if the device is dropped. Logically if you spend almost RM5000 for a smartphone, you also buy a durable frame. The combination of large screen size, giant glass panels; prominent camera glass bulges and heavy devices only increases the likelihood of damage occurring if it falls without any frame.

We also believe most Galaxy S20 Plus users will choose a higher frame rate is more important than a higher resolution. Plus not many of us have access to a TV that supports 8K displays to really make this 8K recording worth using. Plus the file size reaches 600MB for 8K 24FPS recording for one minute. For 4K 60FPS recording for the same period the file size is around 520MB.

What about the 4K 60FPS recording capability on the S20+? The video is smooth with good stabilization if fast movements are not done. In the video below can be seen the stabilization system working hard so that the movement does not look smooth. Even this smoothness can be seen when the gadget camera tries to focus on the object while we are panning.

The Galaxy S20+ also has a Super Steady recording mode that will stabilize video recording results using OIS as well as software. We were surprised by the results that Samsung provided. Even though I ran and jumped, the quality was still beautiful, bright and didn’t vibrate like other devices. Not only that, if you review all the videos, the microphone is also very good. Able to record ambient audio like the sound of birds well.

So far, we are very fond of the S20 series. It has good camera capabilities no matter at night or not. Improved zoom capabilities, improved bokeh mode and overall satisfying.

Steady stereo audio can be enjoyed from a pair of included stereo speakers. One speaker is located at the front while the other is at the bottom. Even so, the quality of the audio produced is still balanced and most importantly loud. For true audio enjoyment, we recommend that the Dolby Atmos system be activated at all times. By default it is not enabled.

Galaxy S20 Plus Camera Software

Galaxy S20 Plus Camera Software

The Galaxy S20 Plus camera software is available and following in Pixel’s footsteps. It is overly dependent on software, such as artificial intelligence or machine learning. The image seen on the viewfinder will be different from the result seen in the gallery. In fact, once finished taking a picture and want to see directly in the gallery – there will be a rotating loading animation still processing the image.

Our praise goes to the neat and easy -to -use camera app interface. The multi -functional iconography is easy to understand. There are many quick shortcuts to zoom directly to 0.5X, 1.0X, 2.0X, 4.0X, 10X, 30X. This is a flaw that was missing in last year’s Huawei P30 Pro device. Samsung provided a zoom mode interface that we felt was more user -friendly on this year’s S20 series.

Previously there was a fairly serious zoom issue. But we are not even aware of this issue if it is not emphasized by other commentators. The zoom mode on this Samsung gadget is a bit problematic. Inside, the zoom results are not as sharp as taking pictures outside. Auto-focus is also inconsistent.

Most frustrating is, the zoom transition between lens to lens. Significant changes that slightly alter the color of the picture and focus are annoying. Why can’t Android devices emulate the camera capabilities of the iPhone 11 and above with a good lens shift?

Like the Pixel device, the S20+ processes each picture first to ensure sharpness and color. Good or bad we will touch on it again in the segment below. Notable is that like the Pixel 4 and iPhone 11 Pro Max, the S20+ also uses post-processing to ensure each photo taken produces a satisfactory image.

Galaxy S20 Plus Audio

Galaxy S20 Plus Audio

Stereo in Galaxy S20 plus audio is supported and provided through speakers on the bottom and earphones located above the selfie camera. With this the S20+ provides a good audio experience complete with Dolby Atmos support.

All buttons are placed on the right side of the device, with a sound level control button as well as a power button underneath. In our opinion, the position of the power and voice buttons on the right side is more user -friendly than the left side on the Note 10.

On this S20 series as well, there are no more 3.5mm audio jacks and users will be given earphones that use a USB-C connection. With this Samsung officially no longer includes audio jacks on all of their flagship devices after doing so on the Note 10 years ago. Samsung Galaxy S20+ brings a design that looks ordinary only. But in fact, this device is quite large and can be sluggish when held for long periods of time. Still, the shape is already familiar to look at; and the weight is just mediocre-the use of this device is easy to self-adjust.

The camera bulge on the S20+ is not as big as the S20 Ultra. However, it still uses a rectangular module. What makes this device less attractive from a distance is because; it looks the same as a middle class device like the Samsung Galaxy A51/A71 or even the S10 Lite. It does not have a design that distinguishes flagship devices and middle class gadget.

Thankfully also with a design like this, fingers will not touch the camera module and stain the lenses. The way you hold the device also does not need to be changed; and it is easy to continue using the camera. Unlike the oversized S20 Ultra, the fingers need to be changed; and the way to hold it needs to be better so that this heavy device doesn’t fall off.

Galaxy S20 Plus Flagship

Galaxy S20 Plus Flagship

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus flagship device this year launched along with the S20 and S20 Ultra. It has no 100x Space Zoom capability, no 5000mAh battery or even 45W fast charging. But, this device is quite compact like its ultra -compact brother S20 Ultra. Just, who is this S20+ for? Is it good enough for everyone or just a handful?

Honestly I say, I’m not a fan of Samsung devices. I don’t hate the Samsung brand, I love the technology, functions and features introduced. But the software makes me less fond of using it. I am a user of Galaxy S7, Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10+. Every time I use a Samsung device, after one week there will definitely be problems. It is not quite compatible with my soul. Different for the Galaxy S20 series. I have used the S20 Ultra first before switching to the S20+. This S20+ is a Samsung device that made me fall in love and now I will use this device as my daily device.

The Looks

The Galaxy S20+ although from a distance looks small, skinny and ordinary, it actually has a fairly large screen size. The screen size is 6.7-inches from the Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, supporting resolutions up to WQHD+, 120Hz refresh rate and even HDR10+. It also no longer uses curved screens like old gadget. On the contrary it is flatter than usual and closer to the Pixel 2 XL.

Samsung has long supplied AMOLED panels at a refreshing rate to other device manufacturers, but they are still stubbornly unwilling to include these screens on their devices. This time, users no longer have to worry as unlike devices like the OnePlus 7 Pro and above which are limited to 90Hz-Samsung continues to provide 120Hz screens on all three S20 models this year. Users are given the option to use 60Hz or 120 Hz which can be changed via the device settings.

Slightly disappointed with this Samsung option. This is because the 120Hz refresh rate screen can only be matched with FHD+ and HD+ only and cannot be used at QHD+ resolution. Meanwhile, OnePlus devices that use panels from Samsung can. Samsung’s choice is said to ensure better battery health and durability.

Oppo Reno6 Z Conclusion

Oppo Reno6 Z Conclusion

Oppo Reno6 Z conclusion after reviewing all of the features. The Oppo Reno6 Z, Oppo A74 5G and Realme 7 5G are the three devices we compared above. The reason they were chosen is because of the same design as well as specifications but at different prices. All three are also companies under the umbrella of BBK Electronics. Their strategy of offering similar but not identical devices on the market has long been done so it is a bit confusing.

The differences can be seen only on the screen technology, camera, battery and processor. The difference however is not so great that all three are actually almost equivalent.

Before reviewing the Oppo Reno6 Z we have reviewed the A74 5G. I have to say in terms of users experience and performance are almost no different. So why pay RM600 more for the Reno6 Z? The answer may lie in a slightly better camera and faster charging.

Wins in the two categories above but the Reno6 Z loses in terms of battery life and price. With the difference not being that big, we found it a little hard to recommend the Reno6 Z over the A74 5G. This is because the current economic situation of consumers is more sensitive to price tags. Not many are willing to pay more simply for an AMOLED screen and faster charging.

The Oppo Reno6 Z is not a bad device. In fact it is among the most satisfying middle class gadget I have ever reviewed this year. ColorOS 11 offers a variety of interesting features such as additional virtual RAM up to 5GB and is extremely smooth. We recommend the Reno6 Z for those who really need an AMOLED screen on a device with good camera capabilities and a fast charging system only. For better value, the A745G is a more appropriate choice.

The Oppo Reno6 Z

The Oppo Reno6 Z

The Oppo Reno6 Z was launched just now and it’s another mid -range device with 5G support launched by Oppo this year. When taking into account other devices under BBK Electronics – Vivo, Realme and OnePlus – too many devices with similar designs are offered in the same class in Malaysia

So what can be written about the Oppo Reno6 Z? Is it still worth it? Destroying their own market or are there still some interesting features on this smartphone making the purchase still worthwhile when compared to other devices like the A74 5G and OnePlus Nord N10?

Let’s talk about the screen as this is the first difference between the Reno6 Z and the A74 5G. The screen this time has AMOLED technology but does not support high refresh rates. It simply supports 60Hz which is now considered antiquated even on a mid range gadget.

The color display is very good because it is from the OLED family. Black is darker and color is brighter. Because of this beautiful display we did not miss the lack of 90Hz support on this device. For the majority of users a good display is more important than smoothness.

It also has a built -in fingerprint scanner under the screen of the optical type. On the A74 5G a fingerprint scanner is placed on the side built into the power button. It may be a little slow but from what we can see in Malaysia, the under -screen fingerprint scanner is more preferred as it is friendly to those who are left -handed and kinan. We were just less happy with the location of the scanner being too down towards the chin. It should be a little high as on Samsung devices.

The screen is also flat with a relatively thin bezel. No ghost touch issues we experienced over the course of two weeks and the only negative thing to say is the uneven size of the bezel.
